Shaolin Throwing Secrets Foolproof Set Ups, Easy Throws 2 DVD Set
Everyone Expects a Punch or a Kick . . .
Now You Can Master the Unexpected!
Kung Fu involves learning 4 skills: Ti, Da, Shuai, Na - Kick, Punch, Throw, Lock. This tape shows you how to throw your opponent . . . hard.
Most fighters who can't get a throw or a takedown, can't because either they don’t know how to throw, or don’t know how to set it up. Learn both with this easy to understand program.
The throws of Shaolin Kung Fu weren’t meant to just take the fight to the ground
They were meant to finish the fight!
Throwing an opponent is equivalent to hitting them with the full weight of their own body, and in either a sport match or a self defense situation a throw can be the perfect technique.
Why?
Because most people are so concerned with watching for and defending against strikes they leave themselves completely open to throws and sweeps. Once you’ve mastered the essentials of throwing and sweeping your entire sense of distance and position will be revealed to you in such a dramatically new perspective it will seem like someone just turned on the lights.
Here's what you'll learn:
- The Standard Hip toss-follow my example and you’ll be able to balance someone in mid-air without using your hands
- A Reverse Reap - (for when your opponent won't give you the hip toss)
- The Basic Leg Sweep – I use this one all the time to set up my punches
- Several Variations on the Bear Hug Takedown – a classic “ugly” throw . . . and perfect for a brawl
- An Ankle Pick (with a sneaky "foot assist") – if you’re not wrestling with your feet, you need to start, this technique is reliable, and your opponent will usually put out the welcome mat for it
- The Fireman's Throw - this throw from the Yang Taiji system is great for conditioning and upper body confidence. If you execute it, the fight's over
- An Instep Sweep - a true "no brainer" for any level of practitioner.
- Leg Catches and how to prevent their counters.
- The Scissor Takedown - this one's right out of the movies. Impress your girlfriend and make your opponent look like a beginner.
These throws are demonstrated in detail and the demonstrations are accompanied by a discussion of when to use each throw, what mistakes not to make, how to set them up, and what countermeasures to expect and respond to
Throws aren't just 1 of the 4 Kung Fu skills, they're a great way to make full use of the other 3!
I entered a recent giveaway contest I saw in Inside Kung Fu magazine. It was a "Shaolin Throwing Secrets" tape by a Mr. Rob LaPointe. I had noticed Rob's recent ads in the magazine for his "Shaolin Fitness Secrets" course, which I was interested in purchasing, so I gave the contest a shot. To my surprise I won! The tape arrived and I popped it in with no expectations whatsoever. First off, my interest in Martial arts was basically the striking arts; I hadn't given grappling much thought at all. I was impressed by Mr. LaPoint's presence on tape; you could tell right away that he was a great teacher who knew his stuff! With precise, easy to understand language and examples, Rob presented 9 throws that any martial artist NEEDS to add to their arsenal, especially if, like myself, you have never had any "grappling" experience. Looking up his background, I found that Mr.LaPointe has trained in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which I hear can be overwhelmingly complex to learn for some, but in his tape he breaks it down and gives you The BEST, easiest to learn, throw techniques; all you would need for ANY type of encounter, whether sparring or on the street. Rob gives instructions for the throws as to be safe and not injure your training partner; but the set ups and throwing techniques are shown and explained so well that it's easy to see how "upping the intensity" on the street would be bad news for any attacker. Putting it simply, Mr.LaPointe gives you the best 9 ways to end a confrontation with throws on the street, or in sparring- put your partner on his backside, WELL. I am glad to have this tape and I look forward to learning more from Mr. LaPoints' products. You should check them out also, you won't be disappointed!!
Thank you,
